While
Bill Tannebring has his own unique musical style, he has been told
that his approach, harmonic choices and rhythmic pacing have traces
of Wynton Kelly, Monte Alexander and Bill Evans. But when you hear
this recording, Live in Laguna, you'll discover that the music is
definitely Bill's own.
The
Fahrenheit 451 in Laguna Beach was for years, the center of creative
expression and thought in this beautiful seaside town, and its musical
evenings are legendary. Author Ray Bradbury, whose book inspired
the name, was a regular customer. Bill performed there with his
trio for over five years to the delight of Southern California's
jazz fans. Now, in this CD Bill captures the feeling of a night
at the Fahrenheit 451.
The
songs are standards but the interpretations are definitely unique.
Every tune is a new adventure with a fresh look and approach. Complimented
with the tasty yet driving percussion of Jay Lacaire and the rich
harmonic sound of bassist Harry Smith, Bill Tannebring, Live in
Laguna, is a jazz collection that will keep you listening again
and again.
